‘Brighton Blues’ 33014 & 33062

A twin pack of Class 33/0s in later condition, with modified roof panel fittings, in the increasingly popular BR corporate blue livery.

DURING THE MID-1980s, there was a regular passenger working between Brighton and the West Country diagrammed for a 3,100hp ‘Crompton’ lash-up. We’ve combined Nos. 33014 & 33062 in British Rail blue and, to avoid potential jealousy, locos come from each of the depots responsible for maintaining the type at the time – Eastleigh and Hither Green.

Of course, these machines are suitable for a whole host of other workings covering the 1974 to 1985 period and are further adaptable by the application of later orange warning stripes. This period saw action away from their home region, taking in West and North Wales as well as the Cardiff-Crewe run, replacing Class 25s. As an added bonus we are throwing in a few complimentary early nameplates for those keen on renumbering.
