RAIL EXCLUSIVE appointed sole distributor for ZIMO in the UK
Following the choice of new DCC decoders for our RfD ViTrains Class 47 models, we've added another string to our bow by becoming the exclusive distributor for the prestigious Zimo DCC system.
RAIL EXCLUSIVE is delighted to announce that it has been appointed as the exclusive UK distributor for the ZIMO Electronik Gmbh range of technologically-advanced model railway control equipment, including its wide variety of Digital Command Control decoders and sound decoders.
Vienna-based ZIMO was established in 1977 with a vision for providing a powerful, consumer-friendly DCC system incorporating the best possible driving characteristics from the components that were available at the time. In the intervening years, the company has continued that philosophy by producing DCC products that focus on quality and functionality. Many modellers regard ZIMO decoders as the 'world's best', a reputation which has seen them adopted by Fleischmann, Roco and HAG as factory standard. More details can be found at www.zimo.at
RAIL EXCLUSIVE will be actively promoting and marketing the ZIMO brand completely independently for the first time in Great Britain & Ireland, and act as a point of contact and supplier for the existing network of authorised UK retailers.
Working with ZIMO's worldwide partners, a dedicated website at zimo-digital.co.uk is provided that will become a useful and easy to use English language resource. It's hoped this will become a focal point for the growing number of ZIMO users, where they can exchange tips and access UK-specific information. Alongside, a simple on-line shop, dealing exclusively in ZIMO DCC products, is also to be launched.
Ahead of the release of the new flagship MX10 Command Station later this year, particular emphasis is being placed on the decoder range which has recently been expanded to include several new types that are ideal for UK applications in 'N', 'OO' and 'O' gauges. These highly-specified premium decoders provide surprisingly good value for money and offer significant advantages over other types.
Strengths include decoders with a greater number of function outputs and current rating than the norm plus a unique method for end users to re-assign functions and sounds to their preferred F-keys. Almost all features in sound projects can easily be customised with a DCC controller by simply using CVs, meaning that programming hardware is not required. 'Stay alive' circuits are also built into many of the decoders and provide a simple means of improving reliability and maintaining sound playback over dirty trackwork.
Watch out for exciting new developments and more details as the website comes fully on stream over the coming months. We are always interested to hear comments and suggestions for what we should incorporate, especially from existing Zimo users.
